Immortals Movie Review
Immortals movie showcase a breed of great actors who are beautiful as the Greek gods and goddesses that they portray but the storyline is undoubtedly lacking of depth and trademark.
Immortals Movie
Theseus (Henry Cavill) is a mortal that Zeus (Luke Evans) chose to lead the army against King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), who is eager to find the Bow of Epirus to prove that he is more powerful than the Gods of Olympus.
Theseus grew up as a decent man who fears and cares about nothing in this world but his mother. His only concern is to keep her mother safe from harm. His mother is a religious woman who believes in God and prays to them everyday of her life but despite this Theseus remained care less. His fate was even more wounded when he could not do anything to save his mother. King Hyperion killed his mother in front of him which was like the end of Theseus’ life too.
However, everything changed when Phaedra (Freida Pinto) told him about her vision of the future.
Immortals Review
Immortals is one fierce movie when it comes to visual effects, fight scenes not to mention the sexy abs of Henry Cavill and the other gods of Olympus.
However, the narration seems shallow. The fight scenes and angst of the visual effects will mark to you when you leave the cinema but not much the story. Yes, you know you watched one fierce movie and you know that it is about the Greek mythology but what it is specifically about? You might find yourself contemplating for a while before you answer “yeah it is about Theseus against King Hyperion”.
The film’s promise that Immortals is “300″ meets “Clash of the Titans” was indeed met but then again it would’ve been more satisfying if the narration is good as well. Sometimes, it is not enough that your eyes were satisfied as your brain must get some too.
Moviegoers, what do you think of Immortals?
