The Lucky One may be the kind of film with cheesy story line and melodramatic dialogues that critiques would love to bash but I would bravely say that I enjoyed it.. every minute of it. Well, I must admit that 50% of it is because of the sweet approach to love and destiny while the other half is because of Zac Efron’s hotness…
Zac Efron plays the role of Logan, a Marine serving in Iraq. While he was in the battle zone, he found a picture few steps away from he was standing. He decided to move closer to see the picture. It was a picture of a girl with a dedication that says “Be Safe” on the back. After reading the dedication, he witnessed how the spot where he was standing at earlier exploded by a bomb. Right there and then, he realized that the picture saved him. He asked fellow Marines but no one claimed the picture so he kept it with him all throughout his time in the war. He considered the picture as the light in his darkest days.
When he went home, he decided to find the girl to personally thank her. He thought that he owe his life to the girl. He found a landmark on the background in the picture that tells him that it was taken in Louisiana. Therefore, he decided to walk to Louisiana with his dog, Zeus.
He, then, met the girl in the picture, Beth. He wanted to say the whole story behind the picture but he couldn’t find the right words to explain everything. So when Beth thought that he was there for the job at the dog kennel, he grabbed the opportunity.
They had awkward moments in the beginning but as days passed by, they became drawn to each other. The story goes on from there.
The Lucky One has indeed predictable and mushy kind of love story but it was still very enjoyable. Watching the film will make you feel like you are back in your “high school days”. Well, that’s what I felt watching the movie. I cannot help myself from gushing and blushing. The two actors have undeniably chemistry so you will really root for them.
I also love the fact that the movie makes the viewers to have strong faith in love and destiny. Oh, and yes, Zac Efron is without a doubt hot and sexy. He is hot with his shirt on, off and even when he is playing the piano. Now, I know millions of girls out there would agree with me.
The movie is indeed enjoyable to watch and if you want to feel in-love again, then this movie The Lucky One is a must-see.
